The idea sounds nice. Moontest could use some more landscapes/biomes as well. However, from the screenshots here it looks as if it's just diffrent textures. The trees ought to be shaped diffrently, and perhaps some other strange structures found randomly. Ethereal does a pretty good job at creating a strange landscape.

Sokomine : I dont use the default mod, so I didnt change the textures. Below, You can see a list of all nodes - I guess, there are many nodes which dont exist in minetest game.

space test is using mpgen v7 now!
I added some biomes!
A list of all biomes:
  • grassland
  • ice
  • bluestone
  • beach
  • blue beach
  • color biome

Spawning is broken.

I just downloaded it, created a world, immediately dropped into a lava ocean and died. :-(

hmm, which world-generator did you use?
try v7 or try an other world seed.
If you want to set a static spawnpoint, you need to open minetest.conf and set a prop named "spawn" there.
e.g. spawn = 0 0 0
