0.4_20120122 and newer (the current build too) has fixed iron generation. You'll find more than enough iron.

Thanks but this is an older version, I'm going to do mods, and need the latest version, I think so.A patch or improve minetest's no?

Please read some threads before you post problems, (because theres a thread for it already by me) anyway just grab a copy of 0.3 and 0.4 with your mods, generate a world with the 0.3 client and copy your "Word" file over, this has fixed the iron glitch on my previous version.
also if your cheap, or just making a world "t" to bring up command promt thingy then
"/giveme default:steel_ingot 9999" is also a way.
