Transparent blocks... (Bug?)

by deivan » Tue Mar 19, 2013 15:14

In the new git version of the game I have some strange "effects" in textures. In the correct distance some blocks become transparent in some type of "x-ray" effect. :-/

The light amount affect the incidence of the effect.

This happens to me in MC when I have a 16bit monitor. Is your monitor 16 or 32 bit?

It looks like you're using a texture pack? Try using the default pack (rename "all" in the "textures" directory to anything that isn't "all").

Try disabling the texture atlas if you haven't already:
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
enable_texture_atlas = false
in minetest.conf.

I don't have texture pack and this started after the last compilation of the git sources.

Ok, I disabled the atlas and now the game have a bigger problem... All disappear after some moments online.

I have many messages in the terminal:

Another problem, after the crash the file singleplayer (<gamepath>./world/<world>/players/singleplayer) have this strange position:
position = (-2.14748e+06,-1.4173e+06,320.76)

When I change to (0,0,0) and run the game, this is changed back to this big values.

Don't is possible play now. :-/

The texture atlas is disabled by default in 0.4.5. Try enabling it and look if the bug is still there.

The cause of the crash is the option "enable_rollback_recording = true", I set this to false and don't have crashs anymore.

After disabled the atlas the invisibility problem disappear to.
