Q - clearobjects and dropped items

by LazyJ » Wed May 01, 2013 13:31

I searched and found 2 old posts that read, and I've confirmed with my own experience, running the "/clearobjects" command crashes the server... and that seems to be the only thing that it does.

Many players are wasteful, discarding items and not collecting saplings. With the new inventory system dropping excess items in addition to what players discard, will the accumulated dropped items over burden the server?

Is "/clearobjects" a command we should have for good-housekeeping of the MT server world?

Will repetitive attempts at running the "/clearobjects" eventually clear out all the dropped items laying around?

I use PilzAdam's clean mod. /clearobjects is a bit buggy, and memory and processor intensive as of now.

I would suggest to use my builtin_item mod. It adds a timer for the dopped items and removes them after some time.

PilzAdam's Item Features mod works well too to keep the world clean. It deletes dropped items after 300 seconds.
