4.7 item are messed up in inventory

by Johnyknowhow » Thu Jun 20, 2013 03:29

i had the red screen bug, withc i fixed with shaders, but i still am having trouble with my inventory items being messed up. they are like one forward of the icon they should be in the inventory.
I lost interest in Minetest for a couple of years and... I am still not really paying much attention. I rarely browse these forums anymore but it's nice to see old faces.

The order/appearance of the textures in the inventory is a known (and rather longstanding) bug.

Maybe one of those (or both) suggestions can help you:

1. Try using opengl instead of directX if you don't do that already. Copy this line in your minetest.conf file or if it's already in your minetest.conf change the driver to opengl
video_driver = opengl

2. From 12Me21

I'm having the same trouble with inventory images beings shifted/wrong.

I have three installations:
1. Ubuntu 12.04
2. Windows 7 Pro x64
3. Windows XP Pro

1 & 2 are working correctly. 3 has shifted inventory icons.

I've tried the following to fix the problem, none of which have made any difference:
1. Disable all graphic related checkmark options in "Settings" menu
2. Different mods (none of which I've been able to get the *.lua files to load, unfortunately)
3. Video = OpenGL
4. atlas = false
5. 12Me21's .lua file

I would really appreciate any other tips? I'd like to play a network game here at home on these 3 PC's... I am downloading 12.04 right now on the XP lappy, will probably have to boot that way to play I guess!

Thanks,
Kizzleet

As I played more the icons got jacked up more now sometimes they are the ground where I was pointing so if I was in a lava cave one of them would turn into lava

Well, if people actually put inventory_image = "randomimage.png"

Then, there you go.

Isn't it 0.4.7, not 4.7?
Resources are abundant; only money is scarce. People should not have to work hard and remain poor just to pay for the needs of survival.
Society can thrive without money - but only if productive members of society are rewarded for being productive.
