Minetest @ OpenSuse 12.3 segmentation fault

I have tried both "factory" and 12.3 packages, and while both install ok, when I tried to run the game, the menu was complete glitched, like it couldn't found any textures at all; I noticed that launching the game from a console, it advised that I wasn't running the last version of OpenGL, so I manually updated the Nvidia drivers to the latest version.
Now I get segmentation fault every time with any package that I try.

Is there a way to debug this to know what is the problem and try to fix it before building the whole game by myself? I couldn't find any logs about it anywhere, nor in /var/log/ neither /home/user/.minetest/

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
leandro@gaba:~> minetest
Irrlicht Engine version 1.8.1
Linux 3.7.10-1.40-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Jul 10 11:22:12 UTC 2014 (9b06319) x86_64
Segmentation fault

Thanks in advance.

Does ldd `which minetest` show libGLES.so?

I haven't traced it back yet but I had assumed the fault was due to my using Irrlicht 1.9, it doesn't occur with my 64 bit, using Zorin 32 bit, xubuntu 64 bit, haven't bothered trying windoz yet. Just sat down Friday night, I'll try a trace and see if I can come up with something :)
