Can't download mods through Minetest

by LoseTheGame » Tue Dec 16, 2014 20:11

Hi guys,

When I go to the Mods tab and click "Online mod repository" nothing loads and after a while I get the following message in the command prompt:

ERROR[AsyncWorkerThread_0]: mmdb/mods/ not found (SSL connect error) (response code 0)

I have tried turning off my firewall. For exactly the same version of Minetest this works on computers at my school, just not on my laptop...?

Thanks,

Jonty

That seems to be an error with the mod database.

What do you mean exactly? It's working for my students on school computers but simultaneously not for me on my laptop, even with the firewall turned off.

It is not a problem with the mod database, one of the phpbb forum tables got corrupted. It lost a field, which causes validation errors.

Well, that's a recent issue, it might be another one.

The validation is done by django, which moddb runs on. The issue is a dropped column in one of the tables - a column was deleted.

If you want details, ask iqualfragile or thexyz.

I wonder when this is going to be fixed. I submitted an issue on github about it. I've had this problem for maybe two months.

Thexyz seems to be AWOL, so we can't fix the MMDB software. Prod sapier to see if it's a client issue. He wrote the mod store code in Lua.
