FIXED
Had a stray glass.xcf (xcf is the default file format for GIMP) in the default textures. Removed it and it works fine now.
Leaving up if anyone has this same problem.

I can say with opengl on linux I get a LOT of graphic glitches. But unsure if it is same as you are experiencing.

Are you sure it doesn't say anything in the debug log? as I get this sometimes on my windows system its usually down to a rogue thumbs.db file being in the textures folder, removing all of these should fix it, but other than that I have no issues with Direct3D or OpenGL on my side.

I found that the inventory textures wouldn't show in the inventory when I used Direct3D. So I used OpenGL for the longest until this. I have checked the debug, but I will run it again and see if I can find the problem.
