Sometimes, when I'm walking, I hear step sounds that seem to be coming from behind me, or off to the sides (especially with headphones). Is it a problem with a mod playing sounds in the wrong place, or is there actually something behind me? (Or maybe it's a bug with the sound engine)?
I haven't tested it very much, but I know it happens on VanessaE's Free-For-All server, and Xanadu.
Does anyone else experience this problem (if it is a problem)?

Sometimes monsters or animals can be around causing footsteps, stone monsters underneath you could easily make the phantom sounds :)

Yeah... I always play with sounds at a low or off level, so I can't exactly say I know where you are coming from. But I do know that whenever I try out a peaceful mob mod, I get that stupid, obnoxious sheep noise, and those footsteps

Yeah, a lot of mobs make really loud sounds. Also, the "dog blocks" make an extremely loud whining sound when you punch them, and EVERYONE on the server can hear it, no matter how far away they are.
