'Q' key to drop?

What I have found frustration is for some reason, pressing 'Q' drops whatever you're holding. Annoying since it's easy to hit next to 'W' key to move forward. Annoying when you have a special pickaxe over lava. OUCH!
This is one feature I wouldn't mind dropped... literally. I've dropped load of stone, tools, etc.

Well I believe the ability to drop items is a needed one. However I do agree it could be more useful under another key that's not near anything. To note however just pick up what you dropped?

You can change the button layout if you don't like it.

um then remove it. everyone is entitled an opinion. and your is remove it. not everyone is going to agree with you on this if thats what your wonting. its better to just be able to turn it on or off yourself. because diferent people have different opinions.

Lava only Damages Player.
Lava doesn't damage Items, Mobs and LuaEntities

This shouldn't really be in the bugs and problems section. Since it is neither a bug nor a problem. Just a player getting frustrated with a feature. So should belong to General Discussion.

gartharoth is right, this could go in feature disscussion, or general.

This could be super awesome if ...you could fking lose items upon death...your items can burn to death... you can actually get fking upset with yourself being stupid enough to fall off a cliff and lose everything...and never be able to find it. I think that would make this game almost perfect. I like challenges.

maybe you could drop the items on death so anouther player can take it or you can take it back but it has a time limit and you have to reach it before it goes away

A timed chest holding your lost possessions upon death. Make it back, open the chest, get your stuff or else it's gone when that time hits 0. Idk, just thinking of some other way to do it.

Make it appear like a grave. That makes much more sense.

I would like to have the default key changed, honestly. I have the same problem. Like 80%, I am hitting 'Q' by accident. You could assign it to another key by default, since not everybody who starts playing Minetest will know how to configure their game right away. Not everybody shares that mindset, sadly.
Also, about the "drop your stuff on death and have a chance to recover it by reaching the place where you died" idea: Minecraft is not the only game (nor the first) to have implemented this. I highly support this idea. Yes, it could be made into a mod, but having it bult-in sounds good and fair enough to me. XD

It just seems to me that the game could be become more challenging (= more fun, personally) this way. It should be optional, though, not forced.
I've never played Minecraft (only read a lot about it), so I don't care about what it does or doesn't.
