Failed to load and run init.lua in mods

I got some mods and when i enable them and log on in singleplayer ,they say Failed to Load and run init.lua
in some of my very cool mods

i checked the debug list and it says if u start editing the folder , it may make a promblem

so i think its not releated to them :)

snowflake, you need to do it that way, just don't edit anything, copy it instead.

It's not "related" to the problem itself, but it will help solving it, please do as it says in the link kaeza pointed out, if you don't, we can't help.

i know , i downloaded it in zip file and i extracted it using archive manager to mods and when i enable them and play , i got this error , i dont know what u saying with copy,i think the script in the init.lua is wrong , is there anyway to fix them

It sounds like you need to rename the folder. If the folder has - master in the name then remove it.
Many of my mods are now a part of Minetest-mods. A place where you know they are maintained!

Don, i tryed renaming it , still didn't work but i think the folders is correct but the init.lua file in the mod is wrong

You need to give more information.
What mod?
Name of the folder?
The error message. This should be more than1 line
Many of my mods are now a part of Minetest-mods. A place where you know they are maintained!

Try renaming it to 'homedecor' and enabling all of the mods inside of it's modpack.

You didn't answer all the questions (viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5073), but anyways, that helped.

You renamed the folder to "homedecor mod", rename it to "homedecor"
Next time please post this stuff in the respective mod thread.

k, that is not the proper contents of homedecor's init.lua file, I would recommend deleting the homedecor folder from your mods folder and downloading the latest release and unpacking it into mods:

first of all, you should post the output from the debug.txt file
(you should delete the debug.txt file before, it will be recreated when you restart minetest, you could also copy just the
output from the last run)


are you sure, that you renamed the folder of the mod right, the right name is "homedecor_modpack"

A pastebin or a gist (on GitHub) would be a much better solution in this case. It hurts my eyes.

Hi,The answer I told is wrong , when i rename it , it will disable the mod , so thats not the answer

the main issue error is with the init.lua

are you running the first code you pasted or the second? the second one looks ok to me, the first is missing some stuff. what version of minetest and the mod are you using? is it the stable or development version?

It was the solution. You need to rename it to not containing -master, then reenable it in configure again.

Afaik this might be other problem, but the user that has the problem is not giving enough information and/or not following our instructions exactly as we say.
