It seems like there are no enemies to fight, where have they gone?

It's un-nerving when exploring, and when you expect a dm to jump, there isn't one.

My conf contains this:

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
address =
creative_mode = 0
enable_3d_clouds = 0
enable_damage = 0
fast_move = true
free_move = false
name =
new_style_leaves = 0
opaque_water = 0
port = 30000
selected_mainmenu_tab = 0
selected_world_path = C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Downloads\minetest-0.4.dev-20120320-win32\minetest-0.4.dev-20120320-win32\bin\..\worlds\mesetint

I thought dm were only in the animal mod.

They can be found in Jan 22 2012 build.

Edit: They also shoot fireballs, animals mod don't.

Rats, oerkkis and DMs were removed because the C++ code for them was unmaintainable and clashed with 0.4 development. They're gonna be redone in Lua.

Awesome, but fireflies still work.

EDIT: They don't but can be given same for rats.

Those are ANIMALS MOD MOBS, NOT THE DEFAULT MOBS.

Oerkki's and DM'S that attack you are the default ones and not the ones included in the animals mod.

Note the fireball in screenshot 2, animal_dm has the code for it.

But not the firing state of the C++ dungeon master.

Guess I'd have to go back to see what the difference is.

Check textures, this usually tells you something.
