FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Hi!
I am having a hard time playing with people out of my LAN (on LAN everything is fine). Client stays on "Loading Media" forever.
I have checked my Internet Connection and it does not seem to be the problem (I have 3MB upload, more than enough I think).
I have a bunch of MODs installed, but I think they are not the problem.
Client and server version are the stable 0.4.13.

How much media are we talking here? 3 Mb/s is not a lot.

Well, all the mods installed are light ones, for servers.

When I had a server I had 4mb/s upload and it seemed to be fine. What version of Minetest?

stable 0.4.13

I guess if it works on lan, but not outside lan, there is probably some filtering issue; firewall or router.

Are you using remote media server or only minetest listening on the default 30000 port ?

Remote media is recommended even for small lightweight servers

It was not a routing problem. Server works for another players.
Anyway, I think there was a connection problem at client level. I will test again soon, but after changed parameters on minetest.conf it got better.

I have this same issue with RRH-Creative. Then again it has 278 mods according to [url]servers.minetest.net[/url]. Takes external clients 3-5+ mins to connect on 13Mb/s 2 channel bonded connection.
