Spawning at 0, 0.5, 0 in grey

I got on my world and spawned at 0, 0.5, 0. The screen is grey and I can't do anything, not even talk. This happened once before and i dealt with it by deleting my account and then adding back everything I had in my inventory. Is there a better/easier way to fix this?

Accually, the player file was wiped. Last time when ever I tried to copy the contents of the old player file into the new one it would spawn me there. I couldn't even talk or do /status. BTW, I fixed it by copying the player file from the latest backup. Backups save you!
