I set up a home server so that two computers can play via a router without internet. It works great, but when the client joins the server her skin changes to the same as the server's. I switched the server to the other computer and had my skin change to hers when I join as client. How do I fix this? Our skins are not a mod, I edited the minetest default file for the character.PNG on Linux OS.

The only way is to use one of the skin mods to load different skins on each player. "wardrobe" is simple and easy. "character_creator" is another good one.
