Hey...the topic says it all...
Image
i just finished building the wood roof on a new building and i go dump some stuff in a chest and come back and the roof is on fire...(wasnt a griefer this is a private server with only a few people playing in which no one was on at the time this happened) and it cant be the lava (unless it takes a while to catch fire or something...) and i have no clue what started it...does lava burn stuff near it? or is this a bug? unknown problem? etc...

any help would be appreciated as i would like to know wether or not to move the lava or what i did wrong

thanks,
blue

Fire spreads to other flammable blocks up to 3 blocks away.
Lava creates fire on flammable blocks up to 3 blocks away.

No. Lava sets fire from 2 blocks away; that is, don't put wood directly near lava, and not one further than that. There should always be two non-flammable blocks near lava to not cause fire. I might change it to a single one, but that is how it currently is.

However, I am *not* going to make fire such a lame-ass thing as it is in Minecraft.

How long is the delay?
I tried testing this by building a wodden building and putting lava in a small pool.
When it didn't catch on fire I guessed that there was no fire in the game
(I have 0.4 dev)

O.K I tested the delay by putting lava in an all-wood building(Even the floors were wood) I left it for 15 minutes and
still no fire.
(BTW:Nice graphics XD)

i dont know...i built the roof then went to go put my excess cobble/wood up in my castle and i came back and the roof went up in flames...so i guess the delay was roughly 2-3 minutes give or take...oh well it dosnt matter anymore anyway...i moved the lava into a seperate building in the back

Hmmmmmmmmm...
I think it could be my game going laggy because of the player merge AGAIN.
It was fifteen minutes that I left it. Though it coul only be five.
