FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

I don't know if I'm a noob or something, but I can't craft a door. I used the exact crafting recipe as the wiki says. And yes, I did make sure that I am using wood, not tree or sticks.

what version are you using? https://github.com/celeron55/minetest/downloads the version at the top of this list should have the door in the game

in case wiki is wrong :
nothing/wood plank/wood plank

try to redownload the game, should work

Do you have minetest_game installed under /minetest/games/minetest ?

I went to http://minetest.net/download.php and chose the download that said "Minetest 0.4.dev" blah blah blah. I used that recipe too, still didn't work. I also tried putting wood in the first two columns.

You also need to add the default game:
https://github.com/celeron55/minetest_game

Place it on <minetest-install-dir>/games/

You'll see that there's one "minimal" folder game; but that one has no doors.

:P I can't see the problem.
I made a door that worked fine.
Are you sure you're using the minetest-0.4.dev-20120326-24953ba version of 4.0 dev?
