FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Hello, I just started Minetest, and I really like it! The only problem I have is that I can't switch items between inventory, and in your pack which you have in your hotkey. How do I switch? And I am in creative mode btw.

Are you using a laptop? if you are and you aren't using your mouse you have to use the number keys on your keyboard if you are using a mouse then use the middle part to scroll through the things.

I know that, but when I am in creative mode, I have items in my inventory that I want to switch with my hotkey items. And whenever I throw it on the floor, the hotkey doesnt change. And I am using a PC - Windows 7.
