FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

I have two versions of minetest, the minetest-0.4.dev-20120606-c57e508-win32 and minetest-0.3.1-win32 builds. I've followed the steps in the mod installer wiki help page, but when ever I add any mod, the game crashes when I try to load any world (old or new) when it tries to load. can anyone help me out with this?

Edit: nvm, I think I realized what I was doing wrong...

The mods do not work on the 0.3.1 version.

The most updated mods work the best on the latest minetest builds, 0.4.4-d1

Put them in a folder called /mods/minetest

Edit: When reacting to a post, check the date of the last post. Some problems might be old and not longer of value. (Not this post, but other posts you have reacted on)
