FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Hi, Im New to Minetest.. I Downloaded the files.. Extracted to my desktop and started to play.. When i go to create a new world in Single Player i get an error it says.. "Some Exception:illegal" Could somebody tell me how to fix this because i really want to play minetest it looks fantastic..
