There is no 64 bit version. To reduce lag try playing on a server. If the graphics are the problem you maybe have to remove some mods or use a texture pack with a low resolution.

64 bit wouldn't really help (a bit); you can compile a 64 bit build yourself, this is easy on GNU/Linux but it's really tricky on Windows.

Are you saying that its easier to code and make games as well on GNU/Linux?
Cause if it is, then i really consider installing linux :D

Really, it is. With almost any GNU/Linux distribution you don't have to browse the web around to get dependencies required to compile Minetest; there's a package manager which allows you to get these easily by typing one command (this can be done through GUIs too). 8)

no, he just hates windows.
although, in windows 8, it -is- impossible; software cant run without a liscence. (if i understand correctly.)

Many graphics cards don't work so good if you look at many transparent materials.
(like many Trees, etc.)

Try disabling all the "nice" graphics options like Shaders, Facy trees, smooth lighting, etc.

I think it would help if there was an option (or a mod) that caused leaves to be given the plantlike drawing type (they are just leaves, after all.)
