FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Hello I have a problem I have ubuntu 12.04 and not know how to make patterns if I go to. minetest I only luema and not seeing that tb siu to go in there and put mintest usr modes and textures but no permission and I wanna get my textures please help me
I installed it using the installation sudo_apget minetest CS5 and did not know can tell tb aslfel installed please detail
