Texture bug (even with disabled atlas)

On minetest 0.4.4dev for Windows, when I started the game I got this:

So I disabled the texture atlas, closed Minetest and restarted it, and got the same, but in colour.
This still happens when i remove all mods.
Please help, as I do not want to play minetest in a flickering world.

Also, when I dig a node, many small cracks appear in it instead of the single one, and the inventory items just appear as hexagons with 2D textures on them.

Have you tried clearing your minetest media cache? see if that helps

Looks like the Texture Atlas is not disabled correctly.

This happened with a two completely new games (I tried redownloading unsuccessfully)

What is wrong with it? How do I sort it out?
By the way, my renderer is OpenGL if it makes any difference.

I think I solved it by disabling shaders in minetest.conf. I changed

Code: Select all
enable_shaders = 2
to

hmmm strange, what video driver are you using? and version? If turning off shaders fixed it you might have an incompatible gpu. Also it might be worth checking that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.

P.S. you can also turn shaders on/off in the options menu in-game ^_^
