This feature was removed because everyone thought it limited ceativity by not allowing to place a slab over another.
I believe you can now create a block back by crafting two slabs together.

I think it has that effect in non-creative mode too though. It would be nice if it were removed from that as well.

If you have stairsplus vis a vis moreblocks, this feature exists there and for any block that is properly routed through the stairsplus code. It's quite handy.

Wrong, it is a bug.

It might be handy if six full nodes didn't become six slabs, and stack to be three full nodes. It's a wast of materials is what it is. If If three full nodes became six slabs, than any stacking to form full nodes might be useful sometimes. As it is, you have to be extra careful when working with slabs to avoid accidentally stacking them, especially with rare material slabs, such as bricks. It's really a lot more cumbersome than helpful.

I understand you use stairsplus (which fixes the problem by making the recipe yield six slabs, not three) and creative mode (so no sense of finite materials), but for those of us playing something closer to minetest_game in non-creative mode, it's a pain to deal with.
