When finally one of the builds worked, i started the game and it ran good at 30 fps, which is OK for my PC.
But now it dropped it's 10-11 fps, which i hate too much.
Can anyone help me?

Do you lookk at many trees or have full view range enabled?

Can we get your specs?

Have you installed any/many mods or large texture packs?

Finally, go to Minetest's video settings and turn everything off or to the lowest setting possible. From there, work up until you're at an acceptable balance of framerate to appearance.

Pressing R will disable view distance limiting, press it again if you're noticing performance losses.

I generally get ~30 FPS with all the good graphics settings enabled (shaders, smooth lighting, fancy trees, etc), but now mostly play with min settings (no shaders, no smooth lighting, etc, except for opaque water) because A) I get better framerates (35-40 FPS) and B) It fits better for a voxel-based game :)

Yeah we need your PC specs along with the mods you are running, i set my config to run @60fps max and view distance around 100 however most the time it will run @60fps. Only reason i beefed it up was to mask the problem i had with lag spikes while running @30fps. However i will say the conifer mod with (default) settings will make my frames drop to around @10fps, try a fresh install and add mods one by one testing each to work out whats dropping the frames. If you really cant live without the mod, edit its Lua file and make it less demanding. Also what Kaeza said about in game options like shaders, see if that also makes a difference

10fps?? i wish!!

since kaesa isnt offering his info to add to this forum i will!! :P

i put all options off and removed all mods
and reinstalled minetest (purged first)
and the best i can get is 4fps aveaging 2fps
and ya its really fustrating
oh ya the map.sqlite file im using is 147MB
ceating a new map speeds it up to 5fps but with all options off it goes up to 15, 35 when standing still

Next time, please create a topic for this.

Also, try doing this:
Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
Code: Select all
lspci | grep VGA

This will tell your graphics card.

With that hardware you've got, MT ought to have no real problems. Those i5 processors usually come with an integrated grahics card that's not bad (at least the newer ones). Perhaps you havn't got the right driver installed for your card? For Nvidia, it is usually best to use the proprietary driver and not the open source one if you want performance.

Heh, no, he has a low end rebranded card. But with the proprietary driver it should still run with at least 20 FPS (shaders off).
