This site must not like Google Chrome.

by Inocudom » Wed Apr 03, 2013 01:26

Starting today, I will not be able to use Google Chrome while posting in the forums here. Why, you might ask? When I attempt to login while using Google Chrome, this site apparently thinks I am a bot. What might be the cause of this issue?

Try clearing your cookies/cache. I had some problems at login a few day ago and that solved my problem.

Or try the better Chrome, SRWare Iron.

That one doesn't send unwanted data to Google.

Windows does the same thing and sends data to Microsoft that people don't want sent, and yet people aren't intelligent enough to care. If they don't care about their whole operating system reporting private data, they probably don't care about their browser doing it.

Just saying.

Not intelligent enough? Sounds kinda arrogant...

I think there are many who know what Windows does, but decided not to care.
Like using Facebook: Everyone knows that FB gives a sh*t on privacy, but more than 1.000.000.000 ppl use it anyway.

And furthermore: Why not reduce the data leaks to a minimum, without changing OS?

Actually, I have the bot-detection problem on one IP address(which I know for the life of me doesn't have a bot), but not another. It seems to be giving false alarms. Please slacken the restrictions.
Admin pro tempore on 0gb.us:30000. Ask me if you have a problem, or just want help.
This is a signature virus. Add me to your signature so that I can multiply.
Now working on my own clone, Mosstest.
I guess I'm back for some time.

Okay, if they decided not to care, it's not a lack of intelligence. You're right. However, if they don't care what their operating system is doing, why would they care what their browser is doing, when the browser is doing the same thing but to a lesser extent? Your argument is inconsistent.

Maybe they care what their browser is doing because it is kinda easy to change the browser, but not that easy to change OS. Most common users have not the skills to use Linux (without help).

To the "inconsistent arguement" an simple example: It is bad if you get robbed. But it is worse if you get robbed twice ;)

I noticed that you had posted about the server list being fixed in git after a spambot posted on http://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?id=5342, but when the spam post was deleted, your post was gone too. Maybe a moderator accidentally marked your post as spam?
