0.4.dev-20111209-1 issue~

by Tristitia » Sat Dec 10, 2011 13:55

So I just downloaded the 0.4.dev-20111209-1 release about 20 minutes ago and it's -really- choppy. As in it skips frames every second or two. I ran the release prior to this one and the latest stable and the work perfectly.

Is it just something with this version? Anyone else having this problem?

I have noticed it going slow when exploring new areas though. It takes longer then the average server to create the new areas.

Well if you're having problems with that there must be a bug or something because I have half that amount of RAM, an I5 and an onboard graphics card and it isn't choppy for me, it just doesn't register my clicks sometimes.

Disable 3D clouds, they tend to reduce FPS a lot.
Also, try to reduce the render distance in minetest.conf (set it to minimum 50 and maximum 50, that's what I do)

I disabled the 3d clouds, it made it generate and load a bit faster.
