0.4.6 - Unable to Create minetest.conf - Crashes on Exit to Menu

I'm encountering the same problems with daily-builds from 2013_04_08 and 2013_04_11. I've compiled these on Ubuntu 12.10 after updating the dependencies listed in the README.txt.

The problems:

1. MT is unable to generate a minetest.conf file.
I've checked the permissions for the directory and they are the same as a previous build that still works.
When I logged into a server, *then* MT created a minetest.conf file.
When I logged off the server the MT menu stayed up as it should.
When I adjusted the settings in the menu, opened a new, "test" world, adjusted the sound volume, set the privs, and exited to OS, no changes were made to the config file to reflect the changes I had made in-game.

2. MT crashes on "Exit to Menu".
This is similar to what shadowwraith posted http://forum.minetest.net/viewtopic.php?id=5561

Thanks for continuing to improve MT!

This started happening when I installed LuaJIT and compiled with LuaJIT support, personally. You can still edit minetest.conf by hand when the game is not started.

Thanks, Calinou.

I forgot to include that I copied the minetest.conf from an earlier 0.4.6 build, that didn't have this glitch, into the newer 0.4.6 builds.

Concerned if MT wouldn't write a minetest.conf, would it save changes made to a world, I tested a new world, stacked some blocks, closed out, started MT again and the blocks were still there. So writing new info for worlds seems to be OK.

Hopefully this info will help the developers target the gremlin(s). ;)

Its not related to LuaJIT.

The two problems are connected. Minetest writes the conf file when you exit it. But due to the second bug Minetest crashes before writing the config file.
