FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Ok when I first got minetest I had no problem with fps. I had to delete it because i wanted to try a different game. A few months later I decided to get minetest back after I uninstalled the game. And when I go to any world my fps are at 3. I got Razer game booster and it still doesn't help. I really need suggestions and answers to fix this problem.

Try to disable shaders. Also, wait a few minutes (mapgen may be happenening).

I would recommend changing the video backend to Direct3d9, but I haven't gotten that to work well since 0.4.5 days. >.<
