FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Whenever I use minetest (even vanilla) from the beginning it is at fps 1, maybe 5 or 4 if I am lucky. But it only happen if I can see the ground level. If I look at the sky (even when It is filled with blocks) it will skyrocket to 70. My render distance is low, and my computer won't support shaders, so they are already disabled. If theres any way to fix it (that does not require you to install something other than a mod) please tell me.

This used to happen to me, Try uninstalling then reinstall. It could of skipped a beat when installing.

Also try disabling
Fancy Trees
Smooth Lighting
3D CLouds
Opaque Water
And turn off Particles

Only box that I have checked is "Preload Item visuals"

I run about 20-30 FPS

U always want smooth lighting on, I have Smooth lighting and fancy trees and my fps on rays is normally 40-65, i do not check preload item visuals.

I had smooth lighting on and it lowered my FPS by around 5-6. MAKE SURE SHADERS ARE TURNED OFF! They made my FPS drop by nearly 70.
