FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Whenever I play mine test, I cannot see the icons for some random items in my hot bar, inventory, or creative inventory. I can still place them or see them in my wield hand normally, but I just can't see the icons. The only way I know what I have is to roll over the item with my mouse. This only happens to a random set of items, mostly (but not all) from mods. I can reproduce this in any area, severs and single player. And if I reinstall, I can see all the items when I run it, but the next time I open it, it happens again.

PS. This started happening when I change the video driver variable in minetest.conf to direct3d9 because my opnegl is so slow. Also, I cannot reproduce this in opengl driver.

Try disabling preload item visuals in the settings tab.

It did not work

I'm having a similar problem, but this didn't work for me but it works for everyone else with good Video cards. Try going into minetest.conf and type: enable_texture_atlas = false( I can't remember exactly but that text is somewhere and make is false.)
