No...ANYTHING??

Ok, I thought Minetest would be a fun game to try out as I play Minecraft frequently. I had some graphical issues with Minecraft, so I started playing Minetest. I started playing the Windows version to see if I had the same issues as I did with Minecraft. Unfortunately I had different issues. Wrong textures on everything in my inventory (tried editing the config, but it was nonexistant), and drastic changes in FPS, like jumping from 80 FPS to 14 constantly. Another notable thing to point out was that there was absolutely no shortage of coal. Playing it on Fedora seems to have solved those (plays at a smooth 40 FPS), but I can't find ANY food, no apples, no animals, nothing. I dig down for about 70 or so blocks and find nothing but dirt, sand, rock, gravel, and water. No ores. I can't seem to make any charcoal, it just won't burn in the furnace. Rock will smelt, though.

When I try to install the moreores and mobs mod to try and fix some of this, two very strange things happened. One was that ~/.minetest/mods did not exist. In fact the folder looks pretty bare. Just the folders cache and worlds, and the files debug.txt and minetest.conf (minetest.conf was NOT present in Windows). And when I run Minetest and go to start my world, it says "ModError: Failed to load and run /home/$USER/.minetest/mods/minetest/PilzAdam-mobs-c49cc47/init.lua" I tried a few other mods, all of which had the same error. I'm thinking it's not the mods.

Thanks in advance for an answer.

rename PilzAdam-mobs-c49cc47 to mobs

See FAQ for details on inventory mix ups.

Renaming the folder to mobs works for about 3 seconds, then I get this error:

"ServerError: LuaError: error running function on_activate: /home/$USER/.minetest/mods/mobs/api.lua:441: attempt to perform arithmatic on local 'dtime_s' (a nil value)"

As for the FAQ, I already did, it said to edit the non-existing config file. I have no issues with that in Linux, so I'm using that version ATM.

It is version 0.4.3, latest in the repos.

You need a newer version, 0.4.7 is the latest.

I don't use Ubuntu or Debian and never will. This script won't work for me. This is the latest one compiled for my distro.

Your phone or window isn't wide enough to display the code box. If it's a phone, try rotating it to landscape mode.
