FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Hi people! I got this problem... I used my profile name, put my password in and press connect. Now, loading goes perfectly well and everything is ok. Problem; I'm stuck in the game, I'm in the sky, can't move, can't place objects, I can only swing my arm... I'm not falling, just stuck up there.

I tried:

/suicide
/spawn

nothing works.

Any ideas?? I would really appreciate it.

It's Landrush server

Maybe the MapBlocks arent recieved from the server yet, just wait a minute or so.

Did that, same result. No matter how much I wait, 1min, min or 30 I got loaded into the sky.

While playing, press the F5 key and note where you are. If x, y, or z are less than -31000 or greater than 31000 approximately then you are out of the game world and this will happen. I remember someone else complaining about this once before and it might have happened to you. If playing on a server you will likely need a moderator to teleport you into the game world, if playing single player you will need to teleport yourself into the game world.

hmmm... I tried to login again, I'm on the ground, but still can't move...

I've ported myself to the place where you got stuck. Everything is fine for me there. So I guess it's a client problem you have. I have no idea what helps in that case. Maybe you don't have the right clientversion. I remember helping you finding a place to call your home, so this problem occurred all over the sudden. Eventually it's your internet connection. I honestly have no idea, really.

I could try teleport you out of that place, I don't think it will work, but I could try. I saw you timing out the last times. This means you don't connect to the server completely.

I think I got to the bottom of this...

Hmm... I got this game downloaded and extracted while connected on the server at work, it worked there (don't judge me, I'm a weak man).

It seems that game works on my laptop only from that connection.

All in all, I'll have to play it in the office, witch is not the best option, but hey; man got to do what man got to do right!?!?

Indeed these commands do not exist.
You see a list of built-in commands on http://wiki.minetest.net/Server_commands.

After a quick search, I found there is not even a mod which adds such commands.

Your post motivated me to write a mod which adds a command like “/suicide”. I called it “/killme”. If you use it, you die. :D

Wuzzy there is a /spawn command on a lot of servers. On more than one server I've seen /spawn kill you, liked you'd jumped from a really high cliff to get back, so even a /suicide command would be unoriginal. On landrush you have to type /spawn 1, /spawn 2 etc and all it does is teleport you.

I understand, did use /spawn 1 to /spawn 8 on landrush server, but it's not working.

You are still time-outing all the time.

have you tried to change your username and start new

I doubt, that this will do it, Element. He is not able to connect properly. He's getting a time-out every time. Guess it's a clientside or/and internet connection problem. A new account won't do this, I fear. But sure, go ahead and try this, Branko. If it works, I can unclaim the areas you claimed with your current name, so they are free for you to get claimed by your new account.
