FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

cannot load any multiplayer server. loading will always freeze at "connecting to server" and never go any farther. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times but no luck. any solutions?

Is your internet connection sufficient?

It usually does that when the server is offline. Are you sure it was online?

What version of minetest do you have? What version do the servers you want to connect to have?

0.4.8, and all the servers run that as well. the servers also have people playing them at those times so i know they are active
