why does it not function to spawn at the surface when i create a new map?
is this a bug?

i use version 0.4.9 of minetest!

Where do you spawn instead?

I usually spawn beneath several layers of stone. He probably means this aswell.

its dark and i have to dig a couple of stones/dirt to get to the surface...
every time i start a new map...
