texture shading

sorry if in the wrong location of the forum
I was trying to make a texture for my glasses mod and found it impossible to shade/tint the glass without either it becoming opaque or oblique: why?
and can this be fixed?

You need to change the nodedef for that. Search for "use_texture_alpha" in the api docs. Its rather glitchy, though.
