FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

Every time I install a mod it won't let me load my worlds.
Console:

Every time I try to change my ".png" avatar to a ".gif" picture, I get this error:

You have to rename the mod to "mesecons"

Is your gif animated? Animated gifs are disallowed.

.gif avatars are entirely disallowed (because the forum can't detect whether a gif is animated or not)

You might consider getting a more recent version of mesecons.
