FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

I've noticed that in the previous two or so days, my mouse has been drifting when I stop moving it in a downwards direction. It's literally stopping me from playing, and any help would be much appreciated!

Happens when you've got a laser-mouse, get a rough or fluffy underground.
