Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open your inventory with the I key.
2. Hover over anything so that the tooltip appears.
3. Without moving the mouse, close the inventory by pressing I again.

Expected Result:

The inventory screen closes and the mouse resumes its normal functions.

Actual Result:

The pointer and the tooltip are still visible until the mouse is moved.

That might be a bug, but I'm not sure why it would be much of a problem. If you close your inventory, aren't you going to move your mouse anyway?

*shrug* Just doesn't seem like much of a problem to me...

That is true, but it does appear to be a bug nonetheless.

I found a possible fix (workaround, rather). Hope it can be merged into upstream soon.
