is there a work around for this? or is this a new bug that has just been introduced. i am running ubuntu 14.04 with the MATE 1.8 desktop environment on an hp ProBook 4540s.

nodeboxes not being shown when pointed at
ok when i was playing on a server this wierd thing happens:

look at where the cross point is and loook at the block being pointed at. no nodebox outline but i am able to dig

First this looks like a steel block from (old) default. Those are OK for me.
Second this does not look like a nodebox instead it looks like an ordinary cube.
Can you mine this block and tell us how the block is called?
