Which OS are you on?

Edit: also, have you tried going full screen or changing the games resoulution, you may want a new install of the game and if you have installed mods try removing one at a time to see if that fixes your problem ;) (If you are on windows 8 idk what it looks like then it might not be fully supported yet maybe it is im not sure) also, check to see if you are downloading the game for the right os or Linux i.e puppy Linux, Linux mint etc.

Is windows xp, I installed the game yesterday and I have no mods installed
I am a rookie so I do not know how to put it in full screen

Welcome to the MT forums.

Please get the newest 0.4.9-dev build from there: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1523&p=142642#p142642 (The other one from BlockMen won't work under WinXP)
Check, if the problem stll exists after you installed that version.
