3D anaglyph support

I have implemented (/copypasted) this piece of code for anaglyph support to work with Minetest. Here is a simple patch. If somebody has anaglyph glasses (I don't), please test and confirm that this works.
To enable anaglyph add line "anaglyph=true" to your minetest.conf. Also you may be interested in "anaglyph_strength" setting, by default it is 0.01 (some people confirmed that 0.1/0.08 is better).

I would try it but I'm assuming I'd have to compile it. Could you take a screenshot and post it here?

Here: http://imgur.com/a/dWR1m (taken by Nemo08). But it's better to compile and try yourself.

From those images, it doesn't work very well. There's too much "ghosting". (Seeing the image twice, therefore making it not look 3d)

Oh, I didn't see this thread earlier. I brought this up on IRC a few days ago, and tested the patch with xyz. I play Minecraft with anaglyph stereo most of the time (which looks incredible), so I'd really like this in Minetest too.

Anyway, I played with this patch and it works great. Default anaglyph_strength should not be 0.01 however. That's very little and makes the effect almost useless. Use at least 0.05, though 0.1 matches the strength in Minecraft and looks best.

Are you looking through anaglyph 3D glasses?

probably his screen colors don't match the colors of his anaglyph glasses very well. for mine it works as good as anyglyph can be ... anaglyph is never perfect

I haven't tried it yet, but how do you turn it on/off once you have compiled (and installed) it?

ok, I should have read the post completely (stupid me...)

I like it (I used a setting of 0.05 which works great), but there is one bug: The cursor. If you move your mouse over to a block nearby, the black wireframe cursor looks really weird (with the 3D glasses on).

No chance of stereoscopic 3D? I've got that on my tv but not the old red blue glasses:/

I fixed the bug with the block pointer/cursor: http://c55.me/minetest/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1228. Could you integrate it in your patch xyz?

I wouldn't mind seeing this developed further as well, but the user should be able to adjust the colors to match their glasses. The screenshots look like the patch is designed for magenta/green glasses instead of red/blue.

no, it's actually red/cyan, but I agree that people should be able to change the colors.

*looks again*

Oops, you're right. I just can't get my eyes to converge the two fields properly because they're too widely separated. Probably a good idea to make that adjustable too :)

This has already been merged in OldCoder's fork. But sadly not in the normal MineTest... I thought it had been months ago :(
