I always wanted colored light in minetest so I decided to get on and code it to see how it fared.

The Good
It looks great and adds 1000x to the mood.

The Bad
3x more work for the server causing noticeable lag.
Minetest is totally made for singe color light and some situations don't work right.

i like it:D but i think you should make a torch mod to combine al the things your placing of that color. like add cactus to torch to make green torch

I like it, but I don't think all those things you placed should emit light. Lava and torch are okay because they are meant to emit light. A cactus is not.

Do you plan on updating to the latest rev.?

Hmm seems to be so different now. I tried merging but there's a multitude of conflicts and c55 doesn't even want it so probably not unless it has some type of future.

I liked it a lot, and was hoping to merge it in to mine, and use it to improve my fork

Hmm, so much has changed, I'll have to pick it up in the morning.

I haven't tried the code yet, but 100% approve of adding colored lights! I'm not sure if this can be done before hardware lighting via shaders is (also a must), but it would be fantastic if it could. I hope the feature will reach a state where it can be included into Minetest.

I have not forgotten about colored lights, and I still feel that they can add a new sense of beauty to Minetest. Terasology has them...
