Debug info needs fixed (Yaw)

I turned debug info on for the first time today and noticed an error. The Yaw reports backwards. Heading should increase while turning to the right... i.e. East should be 90, West should be 270. Compass_points: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compass_r ... ass_points

Unfortunately, doing that would break most mod AFAIK.

Most of the conventions in Minetest are strange and do not correspond with proper standards.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axes_conventions

The Z axis has always been up and down, Y and Z are swapped in Minetest.

IMHO, it's a pity that the devs did not try to be more consistent with actual standards when it comes to navigation. It would have been much more didactic and educative to understand Minetest numbers. I do not dare to explain to a kid Minetest system because he might end up learning it by heart and make a mess in his head when he actually has to re-learn the conventions if he goes to college.

At this point it's pretty much impossible to change any of this.

In 3d games, Y is always up. I because the screen is X/Y.

Minetest didn't decide this. Irrlicht did.

For me Y was always up/down... It even makes sense (for me), the Y is "more vertical" than a Z

Mathematical notation says that Z is up. I didn't know this until I did the first lesson in it in maths, before that I was used to the video game's standard way (Y up.) However it's easy to get over.

Rotations in minetest code are anticlockwise, this is also a mathematical standard.

Minetest uses the metric system, this is also agreed to be standard in most countries except a handfull.

You get used to dealing with strange axes within Blender rather quicky, so to speak.

Especially with exporters :)
