Image

It is very simple:

https://github.com/OdnetninI/minetest/commit/7c4fffd41ef5a4e27cc457b4b9e19e0fb9f70926

And Comments to make more readable:

And Recompile.

What I'd like to see is some kind of active status display while the game is rendering its textures. Some Windows builds have rapidly-changing textures during this time that show up in the corner as a side effect of some internal graphic operations, but I never see it in Linux - I'd like to see that and some descriptive text (maybe a percentage progress display) made official.

The node textures in the corner are actually a bug when the video memory is full. This should fix it: https://github.com/celeron55/minetest/commit/41c00e87d42580881d8c7001f39014814e3b55f2

No, seriously - those textures should be rendered to the screen officially - give the user some idea that the game is actually doing something during the black screen. This is especially true for situations with lots of mods supported by larger texture packs like Minetoon or HDX, where this delay becomes incredibly long in some cases.
