would a 3rd person ability be done any time soon to accompany this great mod? I would love to look at all the cool skins i could use in first person.

You could join your own server. Start a singleplayer game from the "advanced" tab, then open minetest again and connect to ip address 127.0.0.1 with a different username.

btw, how does the vector stuff works? I'm trying (with jordan/tank) to implement capes and adding the wielded item to the hand.

I have quit minetest ... again. I am heavily unimpressed by both the game and the community.

This is for source code. NOT, the average LUA installation.

on the first page there are two links, one if you are in a precise version of linux, the other to compile it for yourself on other operating systems

OS means Operating System. For example Windows, Linux or Mac.

OS stands for "Operating System".

On Linux, I've had a flawless compile using just the build script provided with the source. On Windows, you're better off using one of the precompiled binaries.

It's not a mod (even though it's in modding general). You need to recompile the game for it to work. It requires some more computer knowledge than decompressing a mod.

That is just so amazing. You should write in unoficial source development section, shouldn't you?
and does it show, what player has in his hand?
