As the tittle suggest, I would like to know how to alter the players inventory and edit the craft grid. I checked the Minetest developer wiki, but I still don't understand. Id be happy if somebody gives me a few examples.

Have a look at the 3x3, 4x4, 5x5 crafting table mod,in the old mods section, by darkrose. It has code to make the player inventory 2x2, and adds the above crafting grids to 3 seperate nodes. And it DOES still work with the latest Minetest.
