I'm bored so decided to make a thread for others here including myself to brainstorm item/mod ideas. Anyone can take on and make an idea into reality. This thread is mostly to dig out those ideas from the deep dungeons of your mind and see what kind of stuff the community can come up with.
If an idea has been done, please inform the poster of the URL to it.

cubical desk? cubical bed? (maybe two cube..) My eyes bleed looking onto cubes (( maybe at least needed is a normal 3D models through mod api?

when you dig a node it becomes a smaller maybe 1/4 scale entity and it gets sucked into you when you walk near it..i know smooth action is possible because of jachoo's client

after doors and carts are integrated successfully we need water flow and boats hard to do does anybody know how to do this or is it just not possible yet

really wow thats cool what about a gas mod that u mine so far down that you find liquid(gas)use pumps to get it tothe surface then make a gas station to make the gas to power motors guns cannons special items exetera or a powder mod to make cool fireworks

Let's start by the basics:
Bedroll and futon
Bedroll should be easy and simple to craft and, most important, portable, only allowing the player to spend the night but bot reset spawn point.
Futon should be harder to craft. Not portable, would allow night spending and spawn point relocation.
Door, window and gate
All of these items should be stackable in order to create larger items.
As an example:
Door: 6 planks (2x1 blocks)
Wide door: 1 door + 1 door (side by side)
Tall door: 1 door + 1 door (one atop the other)
Wide and tall: wide door + tall door (total of 8 blocks)
Castle gate/drawbridge: wide and tallx2
With windows it should work the same but with window space=1 block space.
Gates, here, are to be understood as gates to attach to fences, to enclose animals and/or crops. Perhaps the ultimate structure made with gates could be the barn door...
Craftsman's table, kiln, furnace and anvil
Craftman's table for leather and wood working
Kiln for cooking and pottery/clay work
Furnace for refining ore into ingots and other materials smelting.
Anvil for metal work: metal tools and weapons
Scrolls, ink-brush, ink-stone, ink-stick, pigments
Scrolls to replace books. Craftable from paper/papyrus/leather/fabric.
Ink-brush and ink-stone for writing and painting.
Ink-stick. Condensed form of ink, dispenses the usage of bottles/flasks to carry ink.
Pigments. Distilled from flowers/animal parts/minerals.
This is only a part of a table I've been working on to propose here at the forum.

It doesn't need to be a hell mod. Too much like minecraft. Maybe an alternate dimension. Pretty much just changing the textures and adding new, more unrealistic stuff to the world. A mod could add a very rare ore, and from that, you have to craft a block. With that block, you have to make a portal/blackhole/whatever to get to the alternate dimension. The only problem I can see is how would it work?

If a hell would be added it should be
- Dangerous. This will be for the players who like a challenge.
- Below the surface. No strange planar portals please.
- Have differnt layers, like the nine hells of baator. (Of course our own layers)
- Be original and not a lame clone of something
For items I was thinking about daggers. (made 15 out of 1 stick and 1 material). You can throw them at your enemies, much like a bow in minecraft.

I fail to see any "Danger" even if this hell mod was added...considering that upon death you keep all of your items anyway and just appear back at spawn point. The mobs suck quite bad even the modded ones...So danger would'nt be eligible yet anyway :/
And I think he means...the further down you dig the more you get closer to hell, and eventually fall into it :U

And pitchforks. I was thinking the grass should be flames, the dirt should be hot coals, the water should be ash, and maybe the sky could be dirt, or smoke

I would suggest furnace with more then one place for items to heat: i mean, for example crafting bronze ingot from copper and tin igots ? It should be made at furnace, thay are solid metal. Few similar recipe is in building blocks - they would more sense in furnace, not when crafting "in hands". And it could get more recipies for some alloys.
And please... make transport not just sigle car, but unpowered cars and loco which burns some fuel...
When things such mesecons or similiar will be standard, maybe plain torches have burning time aftre which they should be replaced ? Or replaced with something more permanet such gas/electric lamp (i mean in world, not removed from game)?
