FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

So. I'm a complete newb at this.. so i'm asking for some help. I really want to make a mod that adds cupcakes. Maybe even some other treats, like icecream and cookies, but cupcakes are my first priority. I've got the textures (as of now) 4 cupcake, and 2 other things (Frosting bag, and a bowl of frosting) but i have no idea how to turn these 16x16 pixely treats into an actual mod. Like i've said, i'm a newb. So, if anyone is willing to do the programming part of this, please let me know. Also, here's one of the cupcakes.

I wondered where you will post your announced mod. So, I found it. :)

To get started with making your mod you can have a look at rubenwardy's Minetest Modding Book. Step by step instructions with lots of examples there.
There is also the lua_api.txt file in the doc folder of your minetest engine copy.
And the Minetest Developer Wiki.

And always helpful and fun (and this is how I got started), have a look at similar mods, for example the farming mod in the minetest_game or TenPlus1's farming redo to see, how things are done there.

I did a quick play with your first cupcake to see the texture in action. Just, maybe a first kick to start with, I can't be 100% sure that everything is correct or optimal (I am still not a programmer). But I tested it and it works for me with the default farming and Ten's redo version.
