Damn. Outdated to hell.[0.01][hicarts]

Hello all.

This mod is a branch off from boost_cart by Krock, which itself is a fork of the original carts mod by PilzAdam..This mod aims to add more features and make the cart experience more fun.

Features
-Collision detection on carts (FINALLY!!!)
-Different looking rails. (More sleek, more modern) Without the railway ties.
-Different types of rails. (Silver rails, gold rails, etc)

TODO
-Add glowing rails
-Add chest carts
-Add power and brake rails for the gold and silver rails.
-Add a version with high-res textures.
-Give the carts a makeover.(Need help learning how to code here!)

Art: Rail textures WTFPL, all others CC0

When the cart mod was first being created, the reason that physical was false was that when it is true carts collided with players inside them (and stopped, so were unriddable). The collision still sucks, there is no conservation of momentum.

Did you make any other changes, other than adding physical = true and adding textures for new rails?

I like these clean, modern and colourful rails.

I'm thinking about how a carts fork could move away from the crude minecart idea to instead consider these micro trains with junction control and speed control using up/down keys.

@rubenwardy not yet, but am planning to......I'll tell you what. Place a gold or silver rail in an extremely dark place and see what happens.
@paramat Thank you. And that reminds me............... (Edits original post) And BTW junction control is already there in boost_cart which I forked from. Now I just need help to add the speed controls (See original post) and some other things.

P.S I must add that the rail lines you see in the screenshots in the OP no more will you see, for they were destroyed in a huge explosion that also destroyed many structures nearby.

ABJ in Krock's boost cart thread there is a link to a fork with speed control, also see the recent car mods for that.

Having physical set to true sometimes causes the carts to bump into nodes underneath the rails when going uphill...

Does it? I didn't know that. But then, I can't do anything too much about that. As long as it doesn't do harm, it can be left (?). For now, moving ahead.

Sadly carts stop when going uphill with physical set to true.

Yes, I see this bug. I do not think I have the knowledge to fix it myself, but I will try to update the mod to see if it works better and upload to github.
I am going to do it.
